Overview

MR16 emergency lights are popular for their powerful illumination that is contained within a compact design. Paired with a thermoplastic housing, the TEL-R-16-W Series Emergency Light is an affordable and attractive solution for all types of commercial interior emergency lighting applications. The housing is finished in black and also available in white. A simple push button allows for easy testing of the battery backup system.

The universal mounting plate and snap together design allows for effortless installation. Features a 90 minute, UL Listed, battery backup system that insures operability during emergency circumstances where power is lost. Operates using 120 or 277v AC power. The standard 5.4W halogen MR16 lamps can be positioned as needed. Damp location rating is standard and the unit is UL 924 Listed and compliant for use throughout the United States.

Application

This emergency light is designed for indoor use in all types of environments. MR16 emergency lights are a popular choice for office and retail applications. The black housing blends well with dark interiors and wall coverings. The lamps are fully adjustable so they ililluminate the largest area possible.

External Specifications

This emergency light is manufactured with a black thermoplastic housing that can also be ordered in white. The halogen MR16 lamps are mounted on a swivel so they can be angled as necessary. The test button is located on the bottom of the unit. Plastic emergency lights like this one easily back (surface) mount to almost all normally inflammable surfaces.

Internal Specifications

High output halogen MR16 lamps and a specially designed refractory lens assembly provides glare-free light distribution. Lamp Type: Halogen - wedge-based Lamp Rating: 6 volts, 5.0 watts. Lamp Life: 100 hours (expected average).

Electrical Specifications

120/277v AC dual-voltage operation is standard. Other voltages available upon request such as 220v and 240v.

Warranty

Five-year warranty on parts, five-year prorated warranty on battery.

Maintenance Profile

The maintenance required for this unit is monthly and yearly testing of the battery backup system per OSHA regulations. The emergency lamps are replaceable if broken or burnt out.

8-10 year expected lifespan on all components except replaceable battery (five-year lifespan)

Options

Self-testing - The unit can come with self-diagnostic testing that eliminates monthly and yearly testing of the battery backup system and alerts the user to any problems regarding operational functionality of the unit.

Remote Capability - The unit can be outfitted with an additional 6-volt 4.5-amp battery that can provide support to as many as two additional 6-volt 5.4-watt remote lamp heads.

Technology

Battery backup system features brownout protection and low-voltage disconnect, ensuring a long lifespan. Push button testing is easy and reliable.

Installation

Use two of three provided wires to connect the unit to AC power. Use the black(120v) and black(Common) wires for 120v AC connections and the red(277v) and black(Common) wires for 277v AC connections.
