Overview

The Explosion Proof Remote Head is a Class I and II Division 1 and 2 remote lamp head for hazardous locations. It's popular for processing plants, manufacturing facilities, oil refineries and other types of industrial locations that require a fixture rated for hazardous locations. Remote heads are popular because they are weatherproof regardless of temperature and can be operated by a centrally located battery pack, minimizing maintenance requirements. Connecting multiple remote heads to a battery pack allows you to run multiple lamps from one battery, producing significant savings in regards to product purchase price.

When pairing the Explosionproof Remote Head with a battery pack, make sure to choose the same voltage battery pack as you do for the remote head. We offer this emergency light in 6, 12, or 24-volt versions. This explosionproof fixture comes standard with ceiling mount configuration but wall mount is available as well.

Application

Explosionproof Class 1 Div 1/2 and Class 2 Div 1/2 emergency light fixtures such as this remote head are used in applications that experience hazardous materials such as ignitable gases, vapors, liquids, or dust. The hermetically sealed enclosure protects the internal electronics of the fixture. Use this explosionproof remote head in the harshest environments.

External

The housing of the Explosion Proof Remote Head is made from heavy cast aluminum with an epoxy finish and a Pyrex lens. All attaching hardware is designed to be explosionproof as well. The globe that encloses the lamp is made from Pyrex and can be ordered with a guard, dome reflector, or angle reflector.

Internal

Utilizes 120/277v AC electricity to operate and charge the battery. Comes standard with solid state charging circuitry, low voltage disconnect, AC lockout, and brownout protection. Available in custom voltages upon request.

Lamp Specifications

The EXPF-RH Series features two choices in regards to the lamp type. The 6-volt model can be outfitted with 12-watt halogen or 25-watt tungsten lamps. The 12-volt model comes with 12-watt lamps while the 24-volt model comes with 25-watt lamps. The 25-watt HIT lamps are powerful and come in the standard 6v 25w base model that we offer.

Battery Pack

The EXPF-RH should be paired with a battery pack that is remotely located and provides emergency power to the remote heads. The voltage of the battery pack should match the voltage of the remote head that you order. Wire Guard - Choose the one-piece aluminum casting guard to protect the Pyrex globe of your remote head.

Dome Reflector - This comes with a highly reflective white finish inside and out, attaches to globe holder ring with four included screws.

Angle Reflector - This comes with a highly reflective white finish inside and out, attaches to globe holder ring with four included screws.
