The VANDAL Series steel emergency light is designed for applications where abuse, tampering, and vandalism could occur. This rugged emergency light is extremely dependable and features impact resistant polycarbonate lenses that protect the powerful halogen emergency lamps.

This vandal proof emergency light comes with tamper proof screws that further insure the light"s functionality and longevity. Both 6 and 12v models are available, higher wattage models are perfect for applications where remote heads will be used. Operates using 120/277v AC power and comes standard with a 90-minute battery backup. UL 924 Listed for the United States and Canada.

External Specifications

Emergency lights that are designed for use in high-abuse environments are always manufactured from durable and rugged 20-gauge steel. This insures that the emergency light can handle abuse and keep working. A white powder coat finish is standard and custom colors are available, call for more information. The lamps are protected by shatterproof Lexan lamp heads.

Battery

A lead acid battery is standard on this vandal proof emergency light. Nickel Cadmium emergency light battery option increases efficiency and extends the lifespan of the battery. Both batteries feature a 24-hour recharge time. Higher voltage and wattage models feature extended emergency run times. Consult the model rating guide on the cut sheet for more information.

Electrical Specifications

120/277v AC dual-voltage operation is standard. Other voltages available upon request such as 220v and 240v. A cord set can be ordered if the emergency will be plugged into a 120v outlet.

Self-testing - The unit can come with self-diagnostic testing that eliminates monthly and yearly testing of the battery backup system and alerts the user to any problems regarding operational functionality of the unit.

Nickel Cadmium Battery - The unit can come with a nickel cadmium battery. A step above the standard sealed lead calcium batter, Ni-Cad batteries have a 5-7 year lifespan, are easier to replace, and decrease shipping weight.

Voltmeter - This option gives a visual display of the voltage condition/level of the battery.

Ammeter - This option gives a visual display of the current that is being consumed by the emergency light at all time.

Time-Delay - This option is ideal for installations that are utilizing fluorescent and HID lamps for general lighting purposes. The time delay feature keeps the emergency lights ililluminated for a preset period (usually 15 minutes) after power is restored since fluorescent and HID lighting can take 10-15 minutes to reach full brightness, even after a short power failure. Please specify 120 or 277v AC connection.

Cord Set - If you need to plug your emergency light into the wall purchase the cord set option that allows you to connect your emergency light to any standard 120v AC outlet.

Installation

This heavy duty exit sign is suitable for surface (wall and ceiling) installation. This model is suitable for indoor and damp location installations on normally inflammable surfaces. Use two of three provided wires to connect the unit to AC power. Use the black(120v) and black(Common) wires for 120v AC connections and the red(277v) and black(Common) wires for 277v AC connections.
